Read PDFs directly on your WordPress pages
PDF Embedder Premium lets you place PDF documents inside WordPress posts, pages, and custom post types so visitors can read them without leaving the page. Documents are rendered inline, sized to their natural dimensions or a width you choose, and displayed in a responsive viewer that adapts when the browser changes size.
Use the plugin for menus, price lists, ebooks, guides, reports, product catalogs, brochures, newsletters, manuals, course materials, event programs, portfolios, and other PDF-based resources. Files can come from the WordPress Media Library or another folder on your site, and you can embed unlimited PDFs across your content.
Premium reading tools
The Premium edition adds a download button and working hyperlinks, including links within the document and links to other pages. Continuous scroll lets readers move through pages naturally, while the jump-to-page control takes them directly to a selected page. Full-text search allows visitors to search the PDF from the toolbar and move to matching pages.
On smaller screens, mobile-friendly full-screen mode presents the document with a prominent viewing option. The document then opens with the focus of the mobile browser, allowing readers to swipe between pages instead of relying on desktop-style controls.
Plans for different publishing needs
PDF Embedder Premium includes the Premium, Pro, and Elite plans. The Pro plan adds secure viewing and watermarks for workflows where you want members or customers to read documents online while making the original file more difficult for casual users to save or print.
Secure viewing encrypts the PDF during transmission. Watermarks overlay identifying content on the document. These options are useful for paid reports, research papers, ebooks, and other restricted material displayed on pages protected by membership or e-commerce plugins.
The Elite plan includes automatic PDF thumbnails. This can help present PDF resources visually when creating libraries, collections, or document listings.
Publishing and integrations
Add documents with the PDF Embedder block in the WordPress Block Editor and preview the PDF while editing. In the Classic Editor or a page builder, use the shortcode instead. Site-wide defaults such as width and toolbar position are available in the plugin settings, while individual block or shortcode settings can override them.
The plugin includes an Elementor widget with the same options as the block and a live PDF preview in the Elementor editor. Because the viewer works through a regular block or shortcode, it can be placed inside content controlled by membership, e-commerce, or course plugins. Use it with pages restricted by MemberPress, Paid Memberships Pro, Restrict Content Pro, or WooCommerce Memberships, or place handouts and workbooks inside LearnDash, LifterLMS, and Tutor LMS courses.
Tracking and practical workflows
View and download tracking helps you see which documents visitors read. You can embed several PDFs on one page to create a document library, show a sample chapter on a product page, or deliver a full ebook after purchase through your chosen WordPress workflow.
Installation and setup
Install PDF Embedder Premium, upload a PDF to the Media Library or copy the URL of a hosted PDF, then add the PDF Embedder block or shortcode to a post or page. Choose the document, adjust display settings, and publish. Configure shared defaults under the PDF Embedder settings, then enable the plan-based features needed for your documents.
