Centralize site code snippets
Header Footer Code Manager Pro provides a WordPress interface for adding, editing, reviewing, and removing code snippets. It is intended for site owners who need to place HTML, JavaScript, or CSS in specific areas without scattering small pieces of code across multiple plugins or theme files.
The manager helps you keep snippets organized and makes it easier to identify which code is loading, where it displays, and who added it. Snippets can be labeled for reference, while the plugin records the user who added or last edited each snippet and when that change occurred.
Control where snippets appear
Use display rules to decide whether a snippet runs across the site or only in selected areas. Available page display options include every post and page, a specific post, a specific page, a category, a tag, a custom post type, or the latest posts with a chosen quantity. You can also place code manually with shortcodes.
Injection locations include the head section, footer, the top of content, and the bottom of content. This gives you a practical way to match a snippet to the part of the page where it needs to load.
Device-specific loading
Device options allow a snippet to display on all devices, desktop devices only, or mobile devices only. These controls are useful when a script, style, tracking element, or other embedded code should be limited to a particular viewing context.
Common uses
The plugin can accept code snippets from a wide range of services and tools. Examples in the supplied feature list include Google Analytics, Google Adsense, Google Tag Manager, Clicky Web Analytics, chat modules, Facebook Pixels and scripts, Facebook image tags, Google Conversion Pixels, Twitter heatmaps from Crazy Egg, notification bars such as Hello Bar, and site-verification code.
- Add tracking or analytics scripts in the head or footer.
- Load a snippet only on a selected post, page, category, tag, or custom post type.
- Use device controls for desktop-only or mobile-only code.
- Apply code manually with a shortcode when automatic placement is not suitable.
- Keep multiple scripts and styles labeled and available from one management area.
Working with the Pro edition
The Pro version contains more powerful features than the free version, with additional features identified through the Pro versus Free comparison. The central workflow remains focused on managing snippets, applying display conditions, and reviewing how code is organized on the site.
Installation and first setup
Install and activate the plugin in WordPress. After activation, open the settings link under the plugin name or select the HFCM tab in the left-side navigation. From there, add a snippet, give it a label, choose its display conditions and injection location, then save it for review.
When adding JavaScript, place the code within script tags so it is interpreted as code rather than displayed as text. On a multisite network, the supplied guidance specifies activating the plugin at the subsite level only.
