One-click duplication for WordPress content
Duplicate Page Pro is a paid edition of Duplicate Page for creating copies of WordPress posts, pages, and custom posts. A duplicate can be created from an existing item with one click, then saved according to the status selected in the plugin settings.
This workflow is useful when you want to create a new version from existing content instead of starting with an empty editor. The duplicated item can be saved as a draft, published, pending, or private post, depending on the configured option.
Control who can duplicate content
Duplicate Page Pro includes user role controls that allow you to decide which user roles can access the duplication function. This provides a way to make the Duplicate Page action available to the roles that need it within the WordPress dashboard.
The Pro edition also includes post type filters. Use these settings to control which post types display the Duplicate Page link, including the content types used for posts, pages, and custom posts.
Configure the clone workflow
- Clone link location: choose where the duplication link is shown.
- Clone link title: change the title of the Duplicate Page link.
- Status: select whether duplicated content is saved as a draft, private, public, or pending item.
- Redirection: choose whether to redirect after clicking the clone link.
- Post prefix and suffix: add text before or after the duplicated post title.
- Editor options: use the available editor filters and additional features included in the Pro edition.
These settings let you shape how duplication appears and what happens immediately after the action. For example, you can make cloned content open in the preferred location, apply a consistent title prefix or suffix, and keep newly created copies in a review status before publication.
Practical content workflows
Duplicate Page Pro can support editorial workflows where a previous post or page provides the starting structure for new content. It can also help when custom posts need to be copied while retaining the chosen status workflow. Administrators can limit access by role and restrict the clone link to selected post types.
After a duplicate is created, it is saved using the configured status. This allows a site to use duplication for draft preparation, private working copies, pending editorial review, or immediate publication, according to the selected settings.
Installation and setup
First activate the plugin. Then open the Duplicate Page settings from the Settings tab and save the required options. Next, create a new post or page, or open an existing one. Click the Duplicate Page link to create the copy, which will be saved using the configured status.
The listed minimum requirements are WordPress 3.3 or higher, PHP 5.x, and MySQL 5.x. Pro version users can contact the provider for support.
