Audio and video playback for WordPress
CP Media Player – Audio and Video Player Pro lets you publish audio and video players throughout a WordPress site. Players can be added to posts, pages, or template files, making the plugin suitable for media libraries, podcast-style pages, video presentations, demonstrations, and downloadable media collections.
The player supports MP4, M4A, OGG, WebM, MP3, and WAV files, along with WebSRT subtitle files. It is based on MediaElement.js and supports browsers that implement the HTML5 standard, including Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera, Brave, and Internet Explorer. The player also supports mobile devices such as iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.
Flexible players and playlists
Use the available skins to present audio and video in a style that fits the surrounding page. Players can be configured responsively by entering their width as a percentage, such as 100%, which is useful when the player must adapt to different screen sizes.
Playlist support allows several media items to be presented in one player. You can also associate directories with players so that playlists are generated from the media files they contain. Using “/” loads media files from the Uploads directory and its subdirectories.
Players may be generated directly in the WordPress editor or by entering player and item shortcodes in page content. This provides a practical option for arranging a sequence of audio or video files and assigning labels to individual items.
Pro capabilities for media sales and protection
The paid version extends the player with tools for protecting audio files when FFmpeg is installed on the server. It can embed a watermark audio layer and generate truncated copies of files for demonstrations. These options can help create preview versions while retaining the original media for the intended use.
The player can also sell files through PayPal. Payments are SCA ready and compatible with the payment services described under the PSD2 directive. Sales reports are included so you can review activity associated with files sold through the player.
Editor integration
CP Media Player Pro integrates with the Gutenberg Editor, the Classic WordPress Editor, and Elementor. For other editors, insert the player shortcodes into general-purpose blocks or modules, such as text or HTML areas.
Typical workflow
- Prepare supported audio, video, and optional WebSRT subtitle files.
- Choose a player skin and set a responsive width.
- Add individual media items or associate a directory to create a playlist.
- Place the player in a page, post, template file, or supported editor area.
- For paid media, configure PayPal sales and review the available sales reports.
Installation
Install and activate the paid plugin in WordPress, then create a player using the available editor integration or shortcodes. Add the supported media files, configure the player settings, and publish it where visitors should access the content. If using audio protection, ensure FFmpeg is installed on the server before configuring those options.
