Multilingual WordPress content management
WP Multilang Premium is a multilingual plugin for WordPress that helps manage translated content across posts, post types, taxonomies, meta fields, options, menus, titles, widgets, comments, and multimedia text fields. It is designed for websites that need multiple language versions while keeping translation settings organized within WordPress.
The plugin works with PHP and is compatible with REST. It can also be used with multisite installations and WordPress configured in a sub-folder. Separate posts, terms, menus, widgets, and comments can be managed for each language, without duplicate posts, terms, menus, or widgets.
Premium translation capabilities
- Automatic translation: use the premium automatic translation feature as part of your translation workflow.
- URL slug translation: translate URL slugs and use automatic URL slug translation where supported.
- Base translation: use the premium base translation feature for supported translation tasks.
- External translation workflows: export and import content in XLIFF or XML format for translation outside WordPress.
- Language-specific product content: translate simple, variable, and grouped WooCommerce products, along with categories, tags, and global attributes.
- WooCommerce language management: synchronize carts across multiple languages and send customer emails in the customer’s selected language.
Flexible language configuration
WP Multilang supports many languages and can use one localization for multiple regional variations. Custom HTML locales can be set, such as en, en-UK, or en-AU, without installing another localization. Users with the manage_options capability can add new languages, while the Translator role can edit posts and terms without publishing or deleting them.
Translation settings can be configured for multidimensional arrays in options, meta fields, and post content. Filters are available for dynamically applying translation settings, and settings can be managed through JSON. The plugin does not require a sub-domain for every language version or additional database tables.
Editors, fields, and integrations
The plugin supports the WordPress full site editor for block-based themes and block-based widgets. It can also support different featured images for each language and includes support for the Smart Custom Fields plugin. Premium compatibility is listed for Elementor, Divi Builder, Bricks Builder, and Oxygen Builder.
Other listed integrations include ACF and ACF Pro, Gutenberg, WooCommerce, WooCommerce Customizer, Yoast SEO, SEOPress, Contact Form 7, WPBakery, SiteOrigin Page Builder, NextGEN Gallery, Rank Math SEO, WPGraphQL, Gravity Forms, Forminator Forms, Fluent Forms, Ultimate Member, BuddyPress, TablePress, MailChimp for WordPress, and several additional WordPress tools.
Practical workflow and installation
Install WP Multilang Premium through the WordPress plugin installation process and activate it. Begin by defining the languages and translation settings required for the site. Then configure the post types, fields, taxonomies, menus, widgets, products, and other content that should be available in each language.
For manual or external translation, export selected content in XLIFF or XML, complete the translation workflow, and import the translated content. For multilingual stores, review product translations, language-specific categories and attributes, cart synchronization, and customer email language settings before publishing the site.
