Take control of WordPress media
ThumbPress Pro extends WordPress image management with tools for optimization, cleanup, editing, and media delivery. It is designed for site owners, developers, and agencies that need more control over the media library from the WordPress dashboard. Pro modules help identify files that may no longer be needed, reduce image weight, update existing media, and deliver images through the ThumbPress CDN.
The Pro edition builds on image-management functions such as thumbnail control, thumbnail regeneration, WebP conversion, lazy loading, hotlink protection, and social media thumbnail settings. Its paid tools focus on finding problems in an existing library and handling larger image-management tasks more efficiently.
Find and manage problem images
ThumbPress Pro can find unused images, detect large images, and identify duplicate images. These tools help you review a growing media library and locate files that may be consuming storage or creating unnecessary clutter. The Trash Images feature lets you recover deleted images, giving you a review step before removal is finalized.
- Find unused images in the media library
- Detect large images that may need attention
- Detect duplicate images
- Compress images
- Replace an image with a new version
- Edit images with the built-in Image Editor
- Move images to Trash and recover deleted images
Optimize formats and delivery
Pro supports bulk AVIF conversion across the media library. AVIF is described as a modern format that can compress further than WebP while providing equal or better quality, while WebP reduces file sizes compared with JPG and PNG. Bulk conversion is useful when a site has a large number of existing images to process.
ThumbPress Pro also includes optional image CDN offloading. You can connect the media library to the ThumbPress CDN from the dashboard, with storage included up to 100 GB depending on the plan. No third-party CDN account, API keys, or DNS changes are required according to the supplied product information. The nearest region is selected for the connection.
Use the CDN with control
Existing media can be offloaded in bulk in the background, with live progress, cancellation, and automatic resume. New uploads can be offloaded automatically. You can optionally remove local copies after the CDN copy is confirmed, or keep local files as the default. Specific file types, including SVG and PDF, or particular image sizes can be excluded.
Responsive image URLs are rewritten so image sizes can load from the edge, and WooCommerce product, variation, and gallery images are supported. If the CDN is unreachable, images can fall back to the site’s own server. A storage dashboard shows included storage usage and how many images are served from the edge.
Installation and workflow
- Install and activate ThumbPress Pro in WordPress.
- Open the ThumbPress dashboard and choose the Pro module you want to use.
- Review large, unused, or duplicate images before applying cleanup actions.
- Use compression, editing, replacement, or bulk AVIF conversion as needed.
- For CDN offloading, connect from the dashboard, choose the available storage settings, and begin with existing media or new uploads.
CDN offloading is optional; the other image-management modules can be used without it.
