Add chat wherever your visitors need it
Simple Ajax Chat Pro is a lightweight, persistent chat solution for WordPress. It lets visitors chat with one another directly on your website, without requiring a third-party account or external chat service. Add a shortcode to a post or page to place a chat box where it fits your site, or use a template tag for more controlled placement.
The Pro edition supports unlimited chat forms, while the free version supports one. This makes it suitable for sites that need separate conversations in multiple locations. You can place chat boxes in different areas and customize each form with its own available settings and features.
Ajax chat without page refreshes
New messages load through Ajax, so visitors can follow conversations without refreshing the page. Smart chat processing is designed to optimize performance, and the plugin works with browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, and Safari, as well as mobile devices including iPhone and Android devices.
Chat forms can be displayed with ascending or descending message order. You can also choose whether to play a sound alert for new messages, enable browser notifications, and show custom content before or after a form. An option to load JavaScript only when a chat box is displayed helps keep the setup focused on pages that use chat.
Moderation and anti-spam controls
Simple Ajax Chat Pro provides tools for managing conversations from the WordPress control panel. You can edit and delete chat messages, define a list of banned words and phrases, and use strong anti-spam security features. Chat access can also be restricted to logged-in users when a conversation should be limited to members of your site.
Pro features include invisible Google reCAPTCHA for chat forms, options to mute users, and controls for banning non-admin users from chat sessions. These tools help administrators manage separate conversations across multiple chat forms.
Customize forms and messages
Choose from six form styles or use custom styles to match the surrounding design. The plugin supports custom CSS, and advanced customization is available through filter hooks. You can use a textarea for a larger input field, use a logged-in username as the chat name, and enable or disable the URL field for chat names.
Additional settings let you limit the maximum number of messages, limit message length, change the Ajax update interval, and customize fade-in colors and fade duration for new chats. Emoticons and emojis are supported, and all chat messages can be exported through a CSV file.
Pro management features
Advanced chat management tools and user statistics provide additional oversight for sites running several conversations. You can restore the plugin’s default settings when needed, while clean HTML markup and custom CSS support help keep the chat presentation adaptable.
Installation and placement
Install Simple Ajax Chat Pro through the WordPress dashboard, activate it, and configure the chat form settings in the plugin’s control panel. Add the supplied shortcode to any post or page where you want a chat box to appear, or use the template tag when placing chat in a theme template.
