Customize the Twenty Twenty-One theme
Options for Twenty Twenty-One Premium adds premium modification controls to the default WordPress Twenty Twenty-One theme. It is designed for site owners who want to adjust the theme’s structure and presentation without limiting changes to the standard appearance settings.
The premium controls cover both site-wide styling and individual post or page presentation. You can refine the header, navigation, content widths, colors, typography, backgrounds, sidebar behavior, widget areas, and footer. These settings provide a way to shape the theme around different site layouts and publishing needs.
Premium controls for individual content
Premium options are available in the editor for individual posts and pages. You can choose whether to show or hide content behind the site header, the post or page header, the title, the featured image, the sidebar, the widget area, and the footer. This makes it possible to create selected pages with a different presentation from the broader site settings.
Featured images can also be used as the site background or header background. A header gradient can be added and styled over a background image. These controls are useful when a page or post needs a more focused visual treatment.
Header and navigation presentation
- Inject a widget area into the top or bottom of the header, including a Navigation Menu widget.
- Move the logo inline with the site title and description.
- Choose fixed or sticky behavior for the header, primary navigation, or hamburger icon on mobile.
- Choose fixed or sticky behavior for the header or primary navigation on larger screens.
- Add a drop shadow to sticky headers and menus, and animate that shadow.
- Style a header text shadow.
These options can help you adjust how branding and navigation occupy the top of the page across mobile and larger screen layouts.
Additional theme adjustments
The plugin also includes controls for general layout and styling. Adjust the body font size, link underlines, content width restrictions, header spacing, logo placement, site title, description, and navigation presentation. You can set background and text-related colors, change font size or weight, adjust font case, and style borders in supported areas.
For WooCommerce content, the theme can be configured to match either the default or wide content width. Archive, blog, tag, category, and custom taxonomy pages can use a selected grid template. Footer controls include hiding the “Powered by WordPress” text, changing its font size, and removing footer padding and margins.
