Cleaner category URLs for WordPress
No Category Base Pro is designed for sites that want category URLs without WordPress’s standard /category/ prefix. A URL such as mysite.com/category/my-category/ can instead use mysite.com/my-category/, including nested category paths such as mysite.com/my-category/sub-category/.
The plugin activates this behavior automatically and does not require code changes or modifications to WordPress core files. It also handles 301 redirects from previous category URLs, helping visitors and existing links reach the updated addresses.
More control over taxonomy URLs
The Pro edition extends URL control beyond standard categories. It can remove base slugs from tags, product categories, and other custom taxonomies. This is useful for content sites with structured taxonomies, stores using WooCommerce product categories, and projects that want a consistent URL style across different content types.
Its conflict handler detects slug collisions and provides one-click resolution. This helps administrators identify situations where removing a base could make different URLs overlap. The redirect manager adds tools for managing redirects, viewing hit counts, and tracking 404 errors.
Review changes before publishing
Preview mode lets administrators review URL changes before applying them. Rollback provides a way to reverse changes when adjustments are needed. A dashboard brings together an overview of URL changes, redirects, and SEO status, giving site managers a central place to review permalink activity.
WPML and multi-site workflows
For multilingual installations, WPML Advanced features support translated slug management and hreflang auditing. These tools are intended for sites that need to review translated URL behavior alongside their language setup.
Import and export tools allow settings to be saved and restored across sites. This can help agencies and administrators repeat a configured URL approach across multiple WordPress installations without rebuilding every setting manually.
Compatibility and administration
No Category Base Pro is described as compatible with WooCommerce, Elementor, SureCart, EasyCart, WPML, WordPress Multisite, and major sitemap plugins. The administration area is available under Settings > No Category Base. Its settings area includes plugin status and an option to flush rewrite rules, while the help area provides access to a live demo and quick-start guide.
