Manage registration before login
New User Approve Pro is a WordPress user approval plugin for sites that need to review registrations before users can log in. It fits membership sites, communities, online stores, and private portals where administrators want to decide who may join. Instead of allowing every registration to receive immediate access, the workflow places new users into a review process.
When someone registers, administrators receive an email alert and can approve or deny the account. The plugin then emails the user about the outcome. Approved users receive their login details and can access the site, while denied users remain unable to log in. Custom statuses and notification controls help administrators organize this process.
Pro registration controls
The Pro edition adds tools for managing who can register and how approval decisions are handled:
- Customizable email notifications: Adjust messages for users and administrators, suppress denial notifications when preferred, and use HTML formatting for a more branded presentation.
- Invite-only registration: Limit registration to people who have been invited.
- Invitation codes: Manually add codes, generate them in bulk, email invitation codes, or import existing codes. Codes can include usage limits and expiry dates, and valid codes can automatically approve a registration.
- Email-domain rules: Automatically approve trusted email domains and blacklist generic or suspicious domains.
- Role-based approval: Automatically approve selected user roles through the plugin settings.
- Registration deadlines: Close registration by a specified date or time, or after a defined total number of signups. Users with a valid invitation code can still register after the limit.
- Role-change requests: Let approved users submit requests through a shortcode or account page, then manage those requests in a dedicated administrator area.
Practical approval workflow
For an open community, administrators can review every new account and decide whether it should proceed. For a private portal or limited membership program, invite-only registration and expiring codes can structure access around specific groups. Trusted-domain auto-approval can reduce routine review, while blacklisted domains can help prevent registrations from selected sources.
Extended Zapier triggers can connect approval events with other services. Available events include users becoming approved, denied, pending, or automatically approved through a role, domain, or invitation code. These events can be used with services such as Gmail, Sheets, and Slack.
Mobile approvals
The product also includes a dedicated mobile app for managing registrations away from the WordPress dashboard. Administrators can review complete user profiles, approve or deny registrations with a tap, and receive push notifications for new signups.
