Bring connected spreadsheet data into WordPress
FlexTable Pro extends FlexTable’s spreadsheet-to-table workflow for WordPress. Connect a Google Sheets spreadsheet, create a table, and display the connected data on your site. Changes made in the linked sheet can be reflected automatically, so the spreadsheet remains a practical place to maintain information without repeatedly entering it in the WordPress dashboard.
You can place tables on pages and posts with a generated shortcode, the Gutenberg table block, or the Elementor table widget. This makes FlexTable Pro useful for product comparisons, directories, schedules, catalogues, reports, and other structured information that needs regular updates.
Advanced styling from Google Sheets
FlexTable Pro can import styles from the connected sheet, including cell background colour, font colour, font size, font weight, font family, and other spreadsheet styling. This helps preserve the visual organisation of the source data when it is presented on the front end.
For further control, use custom CSS to design the table or the surrounding page. The CSS you write is applied to the front end of the website. The plugin also includes six premium table themes and a theme builder for creating your own reusable table themes. Header, body, and border colours can be personalised within the theme settings.
Flexible table presentation
Tables can be made responsive for different devices, with options including default, collapsible, and scrollable responsive styles. FlexTable Pro also provides vertical scrolling and a sticky header option, helping visitors follow column headings while moving through longer tables.
Pagination can be customised with five pagination themes. These presentation tools allow you to choose a layout that fits the amount and type of data being displayed rather than relying on one fixed table style.
Exports and table management
Export table data in CSV, Excel, PDF, or JSON formats, or use the print and copy options. These tools can support visitors who need to reuse, review, or save information outside the page.
Tab management provides one place to manage tables from multiple sheets. Organising related tables together can simplify administration when a site uses several connected spreadsheets or publishes multiple data views.
Useful connected-data workflow
- Connect the relevant Google Sheets spreadsheet.
- Create a table from the sheet data.
- Choose a display method such as shortcode, Gutenberg, or Elementor.
- Apply imported styles, a premium theme, or custom CSS.
- Configure responsiveness, pagination, scrolling, and the sticky header when needed.
- Publish the table and maintain source data in the connected sheet.
FlexTable also supports links and images from URLs in the sheet, sorting, search, merged cells, caching, asynchronous loading, response-time settings, and multisite use. These options can help adapt a table to different content and publishing workflows.
Installation and setup
Install FlexTable Pro in WordPress, activate it, connect a Google Sheets spreadsheet, and create a table. After configuring its appearance and display options, insert the generated shortcode or use the Gutenberg block or Elementor widget on the chosen page or post.
