Configurable cookie consent for WordPress
EU Cookies Bar for WordPress Premium helps website owners present cookie information and let visitors choose how cookies are handled. The plugin provides a cookie bar, a visitor settings panel, configurable cookie categories, and controls for the appearance and behavior of the consent interface.
Visitors can accept or decline the privacy policy, review available cookies, and change their selections whenever they want. A small bar can provide access to cookie settings, and the [eucookiesbar_settings] shortcode can place a settings link or text wherever it is needed.
Set consent behavior and cookie rules
General settings include an agreement duration, so an accepted agreement can have an expiry date. You can enable the option to block cookies until the visitor accepts. Strictly necessary cookies can be identified as cookies that visitors cannot disable, and prefixes can be specified for cookie names that should remain enabled.
The plugin also provides a privacy policy area where visitors can see what the website uses cookies for, alongside a list of cookies used by the site. Premium adds multilingual support and language detection, as well as a cookie rejection expiration period.
Manage cookie categories
Premium can display cookies on both the front end and back end. It can scan cookies to detect and list those in use on the site. Administrators can add, delete, and edit cookie details such as name, category, duration, and description.
Create and manage categories with names and descriptions, assign cookies to categories, and mark selected cookies as Always Active. Categories can be added, removed, and rearranged by dragging and dropping. These tools provide a structured way to present cookie information in the settings interface.
Customize the bar and settings popup
Edit the front-end message with the WordPress editor and configure the bar position at the top, bottom, bottom left, or bottom right. The bar can include decline and close buttons. Its implicit behavior can be set so closing, scrolling, or refreshing the browser accepts or declines according to the selected option.
Premium adds controls for the appearance of the privacy button, a header title, the delay before the bar appears, and a timeout for dismissing it. Conditional tags can control when and where the bar appears. The settings popup offers layout choices, list or tab presentation, custom icons, and labels for the overview, cookie list, cookie names, descriptions, Always Active section, and Active Cookie section.
Integrations, access, and reporting
Premium integrates with Google Tag Manager and Meta Pixel for tracking. The floating icon can be positioned on the page and assigned a selected icon for quick access to cookie settings. Activity logs let administrators view interactions with the consent mechanism, while detailed reports provide an overview of cookie consent performance.
Installation and setup
Install EU Cookies Bar for WordPress in WordPress and open its settings to configure the cookie bar, visitor choices, cookie categories, settings popup, and floating icon. Add the shortcode where a direct settings link is required. Premium settings can then be used for language detection, integrations, logs, and reports.
