Shape the WordPress administration experience
Custom Admin Interface Pro is designed for administrators who want a more tailored WordPress backend for themselves, clients, or customers. It expands control over admin menus, toolbars, notices, dashboard widgets, code areas, and the visibility of selected WordPress elements.
The Pro edition is suited to managing different administration experiences across users, roles, and websites. Its condition-based controls let you apply customizations to selected users or profiles, while export and import tools help administrators deploy settings across multiple sites. Pro also adds multiple versions of key interface elements and revision rollbacks for edits.
Build custom menus and toolbars
Rearrange WordPress menu items with drag and drop, rename items, move top-level items into sub-level positions, or move items anywhere in the menu structure. You can create new menu items, add separators, change top-level icons using Dashicons or an uploaded icon, and adjust advanced properties such as CSS classes, capability access, and link targets.
Toolbar controls provide similar flexibility. Add, remove, reorder, rename, or reposition toolbar items, including moving them between levels. Menus and toolbars can be restored to the last saved version or to the standard WordPress arrangement.
- Create multiple custom menus and toolbars.
- Apply interface arrangements to selected roles or users.
- Hide plugins, users, sidebars, and meta boxes for selected users or roles.
- Hide meta boxes across post types, including custom post types and the dashboard page.
- Use revisions to roll back edits.
Customize admin, login, and frontend areas
Change the login screen background color and logo, add a custom backend and frontend favicon, and adjust link and button colors. Footer text can be customized on admin pages, with shortcodes such as [year] available for copyright text. You can also remove the WordPress version number from the footer and hide the admin toolbar on the WordPress frontend.
Pro supports custom admin CSS, custom login CSS, custom JavaScript or jQuery, and custom PHP. It can also add custom CSS and JavaScript or jQuery to the frontend. These options give administrators a central place to apply code-based changes alongside visual interface settings.
Notices, widgets, and site modes
Create custom admin notices for selected users or profiles and set an expiry date. Build custom dashboard widgets and configure multiple notices or widgets. The plugin can also create a coming soon or maintenance page with custom content and a future expiry date, allowing the site to become live at a planned time.
Additional controls include disabling automatic updates, disabling plugin updates, and disabling the Gutenberg block editor. These settings can be used as part of a tailored administrative workflow.
Installation and setup
Install and activate Custom Admin Interface Pro in WordPress, then open its settings to configure the areas you want to change. Create menus, toolbars, notices, widgets, visibility rules, or code settings, assign conditions where needed, and save revisions as you refine the interface. Export the completed settings to a file when you need to apply the configuration to other websites.
