Interactive maps for WordPress projects
WP MAPS PRO extends the WP Maps plugin with advanced tools for building interactive maps, location directories, store locators, service-area maps, contact pages, and other map-based projects. It supports Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, and Mapbox, with options for custom markers, searchable listings, filters, routes, and branded map elements.
The Pro version includes the features of the free version and adds more control over how map data is displayed, searched, organized, and connected. Maps can be displayed in posts, pages, and widgets using shortcodes, and the plugin works with major page builders and themes.
Flexible listings and layouts
WP MAPS PRO provides multiple designs and layouts for marker infowindows and listing records. Locations can be shown in list or grid layouts, with map content organized through marker categories, custom taxonomy terms, and custom fields. The plugin can display blog posts, pages, or other existing WordPress data, including custom post types.
- Display custom post types on maps
- Use custom fields to populate map content
- Use Advanced Custom Fields data
- Create multiple listing layouts
- Create multiple marker infowindow layouts
- Prevent overlapping or identical locations
- Use SVG marker icons, including uploaded icons
- Make markers draggable
Search, filters, and location discovery
Build detailed map searches with unlimited custom filters based on custom fields, taxonomies, or ACF fields. Visitors can filter markers by category, custom taxonomy terms, location, or radius, with distances available in kilometers or miles. Search and filtering can also use URL parameters, making it possible to share filtered map views.
Pro features include smart tabs for Categories, Directions, Routes, and Nearby Amenities. Country restrictions can be applied to search results and autosuggestions, while nearby amenities such as ATMs, banks, and stores can provide additional local context. The map can also be centered automatically based on assigned locations.
Routes, directions, and map controls
Display multiple custom routes between locations and customize each route’s color, opacity, and weight. Directions API integration allows visitors to get directions between locations on the map. Custom HTML, images, or videos can be added as map controls for more interactive, branded map experiences.
Existing map controls include zoom, fullscreen, map type, scale, Street View, camera, and “Locate Me,” with options for positioning controls. Additional mapping capabilities include KML and KMZ, traffic, transit, bicycling layers, GeoJSON support, custom styling, and map color schemes.
Tracking and practical use cases
WP MAPS PRO can support directories that need structured listings, businesses that need a store locator, organizations showing service areas, and websites that need location-focused contact or content pages. Marker click events can be integrated with Microsoft Clarity, Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel, and Zapier for tracking workflows.
The Pro version also provides access to more than 25 additional add-ons, extending the available functionality for map projects.
