Automate WooCommerce order completion
WooCommerce Autocomplete Orders Premium helps reduce manual order administration by changing WooCommerce orders to Completed according to the mode you select. It is designed for stores selling virtual goods, subscriptions, downloadable products, or physical products, and can be used with major payment providers compatible with WooCommerce.
The plugin works with payment methods that identify a completed payment through WooCommerce payment completion methods. Payment providers such as PayPal, SagePay, and Stripe are included among the supported major providers described for the plugin. When a gateway reports payment completion, the selected order rule can be applied automatically.
Choose how orders are completed
- Paid orders of virtual products only: complete orders containing only virtual products after successful payment.
- All paid orders of any product: complete paid orders containing virtual or physical products after successful payment.
- All orders: complete every order regardless of payment status.
The final option should be used carefully because an order may be completed before payment has been received, which can allow access to a product before it has been paid for. For payment-based workflows, the relevant gateway must be able to recognize that payment has been received and trigger WooCommerce payment completion.
Premium payment-method controls
The Premium edition adds control over order completion for payment methods that may require separate handling. You can configure automatic completion for Direct bank transfer, Check, and Cash on delivery payments. It also supports automatic completion for cash-on-delivery orders containing downloadable products.
These settings are useful when a store needs different completion behavior for digital products, physical goods, and specific checkout methods. They allow the order workflow to reflect the way customers pay while reducing the need to update eligible orders manually.
Practical store workflows
For a digital shop, choose the virtual-products mode so eligible orders are completed after successful payment. For a store selling both physical and virtual items, the all-paid-orders mode applies the same paid-order workflow across product types. If your operation deliberately uses completion independent of payment status, the all-orders mode is available, with the access consideration noted above.
Installation and configuration
Install and activate the plugin in WordPress, then go to WooCommerce > Settings > Autocomplete Orders. Select an autocomplete mode rather than leaving it set to off, and configure the available payment-method options for your workflow. For PayPal, review WooCommerce > Settings > Checkout > PayPal, confirm the PayPal Email is the primary email of the PayPal account, and activate Payment Data Transfer. If orders do not complete, first check the selected mode and whether the payment gateway calls the WooCommerce payment-completion methods.
