Create More Engaging WordPress Sections
Video Background Block Pro helps you build visually focused sections directly in the Gutenberg editor. Use video backgrounds for hero areas, banners, landing pages, promotional content, portfolios, agency websites, business pages, product presentations, or personal blogs. The block is designed to let you create these sections without writing code.
The Pro edition extends the core background video experience with more source options, responsive controls, visual treatments, and playback settings. Universal shortcodes also let you display video backgrounds with Gutenberg and other popular page builders when a block-based workflow is not the right fit.
Choose the Right Video Source
Use self-hosted MP4, WebM, and OGG videos when your media is stored on your website. You can also create backgrounds from YouTube videos or Vimeo videos with background playback. This gives you flexibility when selecting media for different projects and publishing workflows.
For responsive designs, choose different video sources for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. You can also assign separate poster images for each screen size, helping you tailor the visual presentation to the device being used.
Refine Posters, Overlays, and Layout
Poster image options let you show or hide the poster image, apply blur effects, and use automatic or custom dominant colors. A fallback image can also be shown when a video cannot be loaded.
Advanced overlay controls include colors, gradients, opacity, and blend modes. You can add dot, grid, or diagonal overlay patterns with adjustable opacity, use animated overlay effects, add a noise texture, or apply a cinematic vignette. These controls help shape the contrast and appearance of content placed over moving video.
Set responsive minimum heights and padding for desktop, tablet, and mobile. Video fit options include Cover, Contain, and Fill, so you can choose how the source fits within the section layout.
Control Playback and Visibility
Segment Loop lets you play only a selected portion of a video by setting start and end times. Playback Speed Control adjusts the video speed to suit the design, while Audio Support lets you add background music to videos for a more immersive presentation.
Display Conditions control where a video background appears on your site. Together with responsive sources, poster settings, and fit options, these controls help you create different presentations for different contexts.
