Consent management for WordPress
tarteaucitron.io Pro connects your WordPress website to a consent management platform for cookies and third-party services. It gives visitors a clear way to review, accept, reject, and change their consent choices while helping you configure supported services from an online dashboard.
The service is designed for websites that need consent controls as part of their GDPR or RGPD process. A consent management platform can help collect and manage visitor choices, but your overall compliance also depends on your website configuration, the services you use, and the information provided to visitors.
Visitor consent controls
Display a customizable cookie banner together with a dedicated consent preferences panel. Visitors can accept all services, reject all services, or manage consent for individual services. They can also reopen the preferences panel later and change their choices.
- Present accept-all and reject-all options.
- Let visitors control individual services.
- Provide a way to reopen and update consent preferences.
- Keep supported services requiring consent blocked until permission is granted when explicit consent is configured.
Supported service detection and configuration
Automatic detection of supported third-party services can simplify setup for analytics, advertising, and embedded content. Detection applies to supported integrations, so custom scripts and unsupported services may need additional configuration. After setup, check your website to confirm that the services you use are detected and behave correctly before and after consent.
Google Consent Mode v2
tarteaucitron.io Pro supports Google Consent Mode v2 for communicating visitor consent choices to compatible Google tags. Configure the consent settings for your Google integrations and verify their behavior with your analytics and advertising setup. Consent Mode complements consent collection; it does not replace the cookie banner or correct tag configuration.
Customize the consent experience
Use the tarteaucitron.io online dashboard to adapt the banner to your website. You can customize banner and button colors, edit the text shown to visitors, configure consent options and service settings, and preview changes before applying them.
The interface includes accessibility-oriented settings, including the panel’s position in the document and a link for reopening consent preferences. When customizing the banner, maintain readable text, sufficient color contrast, and usable controls.
Consent statistics
View consent statistics in the tarteaucitron.io dashboard to understand how visitors interact with the available consent choices. These statistics provide a dashboard view of consent activity for the configured website.
Installation and setup
- Install the WordPress plugin and connect the website to the tarteaucitron.io Pro service.
- Use the online configuration dashboard to customize the banner, consent options, and supported services.
- Configure Google integrations if you use Google Consent Mode v2.

A 7-day trial is available. A paid tarteaucitron.io license is required after the trial. The separate tarteaucitron.js JavaScript library is available as a free, open-source project for manual integration, but it does not make the Pro service included with this WordPress plugin free.
