Embed PDFs with more control
PDF Poster Pro is a paid edition of PDF Poster for displaying PDF documents directly inside WordPress posts, pages, widgets, and templates. It keeps the core embedding workflow while adding advanced viewers, reading controls, branding options, cloud imports, reusable presets, and analytics history. Use it for brochures, eBooks, business documents, reports, portfolios, menus, catalogues, and other files that visitors should be able to read without leaving the page.
The plugin works with Gutenberg blocks, the [pdf_embed] shortcode, and the classic editor. You can create a PDF Poster document, configure its viewer and settings, then use the generated document shortcode wherever it is needed. PDF Poster also supports responsive sizing, with independent height and width settings for desktop, tablet, and mobile layouts.
Paid viewers and reading modes
Pro adds two additional ways to present documents. The Adobe PDF viewer uses the Adobe PDF Embed API and includes Adobe viewing modes, including its lightbox. The Continuous Scroll viewer presents every page in one uninterrupted scroll, making it suitable for long reports and extended documents.
For a cleaner presentation, Reader Mode displays the document without the toolbar or surrounding frame. You can also enable a thumbnail sidebar and choose whether it opens by default. Initial page and default zoom settings let a document open at a selected page and magnification. For wide documents, horizontal scrolling can be set as the default, while the right toolbar can be hidden to reduce viewer controls.
Branding and interface options
PDF Poster Pro supports logo watermarking across every page. Add a logo alone or combine it with text, then choose from the Brand Corner, Logo Wash, and Logo Adsheet themes. Button labels can be renamed for download and full-screen actions, and the full-screen view can open in a new tab. The action bar can be placed above or below the viewer, helping you adapt the reading interface to your layout and audience.
Reuse files and review activity
Import PDFs through the Google Drive picker or Dropbox instead of uploading a file again from your computer. The preset library lets you save a block’s complete configuration and reuse it across the site. When you replace a file, the latest version can load in every embed without re-linking each placement.
Pro also includes analytics history and trends for PDF activity. PDF Poster counts daily views and downloads in your own WordPress database; the source states that no third-party service is used and no IP address is stored. Content protection is also listed among the Pro capabilities.
Installation and first use
- Install PDF Poster Pro in your WordPress site.
- Open the PDF Poster menu in the WordPress dashboard.
- Upload one or more PDF documents, or use a supported cloud import.
- Choose a viewer and configure the available display, branding, and reading settings.
- Copy the shortcode shown in the editor or PDF list, then paste it into a post, page, or widget.
- Alternatively, insert the PDF Poster block from the Gutenberg editor and select a document from the media library.
- Publish the page and review the embedded document on the relevant device layouts.
