Flexible protection for WordPress content
Passster Pro is a paid edition of Passster – Password Protect Pages and Content, designed for websites that need more control over who can access pages, posts, sections, products, or an entire site. It includes the base protection features together with expanded tools for managing passwords, access rules, sharing, and usage.
Use it to protect individual content, selected sections, child pages, WooCommerce products, store pages, checkout, or the complete website. Protected content can be unlocked without refreshing the page, and cookies can grant access across multiple protected areas. The password form can also be customized through its design, labels, and descriptions.
Manage passwords at scale
Passster Pro supports multiple passwords and password lists, making it possible to assign different passwords to different users or groups. Large password lists can be created and managed from the WordPress administration area. For faster setup, WordPress Quick Edit and Bulk Edit can be used to apply password protection to multiple pages.
Access can also be granted according to user role or email address. This provides an alternative to distributing the same password to everyone. Google reCAPTCHA and hCAPTCHA are available as additional protection options for protected content.
Control access duration and sharing
Password rules can include usage limits or time intervals. A password may expire after a defined number of uses, after its first use, or after a period measured in hours, days, or weeks. Passster Pro records which passwords were used and when they are due to expire.
Encrypted unlock links let visitors access protected content without entering a password. These links can be automatically shortened with Bit.ly for easier sharing. The plugin also provides tools to track and prevent concurrent password sharing, supporting more controlled distribution of access.
WooCommerce and reporting features
For stores, Passster Pro can protect WooCommerce pages, products, and checkout. Through its WooCommerce integration, access to protected content can be sold, with passwords generated and emailed automatically after purchase.
Detailed password usage statistics show when and how often passwords are used. Reports can include the first usage date, optional IP information, and browser details, helping administrators review activity across passwords and password lists.
Installation and setup
Install Passster in WordPress, activate the paid edition, and configure protection from the plugin settings. Choose the content or store areas to protect, select passwords or access rules, and customize the visitor-facing form. For larger sites, prepare password lists and use Quick Edit or Bulk Edit to apply settings efficiently. If the site uses multiple languages, primary texts and information can be modified from the administration area, and the plugin can be translated with .po/.mo files. Compatibility with WPML and Polylang is also provided.
