Live News Pro creates fixed news tickers for communicating current information across a WordPress website. Use it for latest news, financial updates, weather warnings, election results, sports results, or other announcements that visitors should be able to see while browsing.
The ticker includes a Featured News section and a Sliding News section. With the Pro edition, content can be generated automatically from your WordPress posts or from a specified RSS feed, such as your own feed or the feed of a television or radio channel. This reduces the need to enter every item manually while keeping the ticker connected to regularly published content.
Automatic sources and sliding controls
Live News Pro supports automatic news generation based on posts and RSS feeds. You can choose the source that fits your workflow, whether you are highlighting content from your own site or displaying updates from a specified external feed.
The Pro version also provides advanced options for controlling the speed and delay of sliding news. These settings help you adapt the ticker to different content volumes and presentation styles, from fast-moving updates to slower announcements that need more reading time.
Flexible presentation and styling
The plugin provides extensive controls for each ticker, including options for the ticker itself, featured news, sliding news, and general behavior. Colors and typography can be customized throughout the displayed ticker. You can also replace the images used for the open and close buttons and the clock background with custom images.

Targeted placement and device behavior
A ticker can be applied globally across the website or assigned only to specific URLs. When different tickers are assigned to different URLs, you can create an unlimited number of news tickers for separate sections or purposes.
Mobile device detection lets administrators display or hide the ticker, or selected ticker elements, according to the visitor’s device type. The ticker also supports RTL layouts for websites that use right-to-left presentation.
Updates, caching, and signage use
The ticker updates news through AJAX requests at the end of each news cycle. The Cached Cycled option lets you define how many cycles should occur per AJAX request. You can also store ticker data in a WordPress transient to limit the number of queries used to retrieve news.
Live News Pro can also be used locally in a browser-based digital signage system, making it suitable for displays that need continuously presented announcements or changing information.
Installation and setup
After installing Live News Pro in WordPress, create a ticker and choose whether its news should come from posts, a specified RSS feed, or configured content. Set the featured and sliding news options, adjust speed and delay, select styling, and decide where the ticker should appear. Configure links, clock behavior, device rules, caching, and RTL presentation as required, then assign the ticker globally or to selected URLs.
