Filter Gallery Pro for WordPress
Filter Gallery Pro helps you create organized image displays for portfolios, product catalogs, photography albums, and other visual collections. Visitors can browse gallery content by category without a page reload, while the responsive presentation adapts to desktop, tablet, and mobile screens.
Use the gallery editor to upload images, assign them to filters, and arrange their order. Galleries can be placed on pages, posts, or other supported WordPress areas with the [filter-gallery] or [ufg] shortcodes. The plugin supports unlimited galleries and shortcodes, making it suitable for sites with multiple collections or separate displays for different projects.
Pro filtering and gallery controls
The Pro edition adds deep hierarchical nested filters with up to five levels. This structure can help organize large collections into broad categories and more specific subcategories. Filter tags can also use FontAwesome icons selected through a searchable icons picker.
Category styling controls include level-by-level color pickers for category text, backgrounds, hover states, and active states. You can set the initially loaded category, control whether an All button is shown, customize its label, and assign custom icons to filter controls.
- Create nested filter structures up to five levels deep.
- Use searchable FontAwesome icon selection for filter tags.
- Customize category text, background, hover, and active colors.
- Choose the default loaded category and configure the All button.
- Use AJAX asynchronous pagination and AJAX Load More for larger portfolios.
- Add CSS preloaders while additional gallery content loads.
Layouts, sorting, and image presentation
Pro provides advanced column controls from one to six columns and supports Justified Grid layouts. Responsive columns and masonry presentation help adapt image displays to different screen sizes and collection styles.
Images can be sorted by random shuffle, title, ID, or manual drag-and-drop ordering. A customizable lightbox can show full media descriptions and slide index numbering. More than 15 hover animations provide choices for hover transitions and zoom overlays.
Custom redirect links let gallery images lead to internal or external URLs, with a customizable Read More button. This can support portfolio case studies, product information pages, campaign destinations, or other related content without limiting the gallery to a standard image preview.
Practical gallery workflow
Start by creating a gallery and adding the images you want to display. Add filters, assign images to the relevant categories, and set the desired order. Then configure columns, layout, category colors, hover behavior, and lightbox details. For larger collections, enable AJAX pagination or Load More so visitors can continue browsing as content is requested.
When the gallery is ready, place its shortcode where the display should appear. The plugin includes import and export dashboard tools for moving gallery layout configurations to other setups. Premium utility tools also include duplicating filters and bulk deleting media.
Installation and setup
After installing and activating Filter Gallery Pro in WordPress, open the gallery management area and create a new gallery. Upload images, add filter names in the Filters section, and assign filters to the uploaded media. Configure the Pro settings for layout, sorting, colors, links, hover animations, AJAX loading, and the lightbox.
Finally, copy the gallery shortcode and add it to the page, post, or widget area where the image display should appear. Review the responsive presentation on desktop, tablet, and mobile views, then adjust columns, spacing, descriptions, and filter styling as needed.
