WordPress ratings and feedback with more control
FeedbackWP Premium extends the rating functionality of the Rate My Post plugin for WordPress websites. It is designed for sites that want visitors to rate posts, pages, or other content and provide private feedback after rating. The plugin can be used with automatic placement or shortcodes, giving you control over where rating and result widgets appear.
The Premium edition adds advanced controls for websites that need more than a basic star rating. It supports rating and feedback result widgets for custom post types, allows ratings to be added to existing posts without votes, and provides support for a different rating icon instead of the standard Star icon.
Advanced rating options
FeedbackWP Premium includes an advanced schema selector that lets you select the schema type directly in the post editor for each post. Structured data support is available for rich snippets according to the latest Google guidelines, helping you configure the information associated with your ratings.
You can create custom rating widgets that work independently of posts and pages. This is useful when a rating needs to be placed in a standalone location rather than being tied to a particular article or page. The plugin also supports rating widgets for custom post types, making it suitable for sites with content structures beyond standard WordPress posts and pages.
Widgets, placement, and customization
- Rating widget: Add rating functionality with Stars, Thumbs, Hearts, Smileys, or Trophies.
- Results widget: Display the rating result for a post or page.
- Feedback widget: Collect private feedback after a visitor rates content.
- Social widget: Use the included social widget as part of the plugin’s component set.
- Top rated posts widget: Highlight content with the highest ratings.
Use the [ratemypost] shortcode for a rating widget and [ratemypost-result] for a results widget. You can also pass a post ID to display the rating or result for a particular post. Alternatively, rating widgets can be added to all posts or pages from the settings, with exclusions for selected content such as an About Us page.
Texts and colors can be changed in the settings, while custom templates provide further customization. The plugin includes a statistics section for vote totals and average ratings, plus an analytics section with details such as rating time, optionally recorded IP address, username, title, and time spent on the page before rating. Ratings can also be changed in the administration panel.
Practical use
Use FeedbackWP Premium for blogs, review sites, resource libraries, and other WordPress projects that need visitor responses. Its support for infinite scroll plugins and popups can help integrate rating displays into more dynamic layouts, although implementation is required.
Installation
Add and activate the plugin on your WordPress site, then configure the rating, result, feedback, schema, and display settings. Place widgets automatically or insert the available shortcodes where they are needed.
