Turn event details into useful calendar actions
Add to Calendar PRO extends the Add to Calendar Button WordPress plugin with a managed way to create, style, and publish event buttons. Visitors can use the button to add an event to supported calendars, while the Pro offering also provides RSVP functionality, generated landing pages, shareable event links, and additional guidance when calendar actions do not work as expected.
The WordPress integration uses either the [add-to-calendar-button] shortcode or the Gutenberg Block. With the Pro edition, the WordPress placement can use an ID connected to an event managed through the Add to Calendar PRO app. Event details and styling can be managed through that web app.
Events, calendars, and date handling
The button supports Google Calendar, Yahoo Calendar, Microsoft 365, Outlook, and Teams. It can also generate iCal or ICS files for other calendar applications, including Apple Calendar. Supported event formats include timed events, all-day events, one-time events, multi-date events, and recurring events.
Time zones and daylight saving considerations are supported, and dynamic dates such as “today + 3” can be used. This makes the product suitable for event pages where dates need a flexible setup or where visitors may be located in different time zones.
Pro event management
- Manage event details and styling through the Add to Calendar PRO web app.
- Turn a calendar button into an RSVP form with one click from the app.
- Create auto-generated landing pages for events.
- Provide shareable links for events.
- Offer user guidance for calendar actions that encounter problems.
Event data can also be connected to WordPress content. The Pro offering can link core fields with meta fields, ACF fields, or shortcodes. Supported data fields include start date, start time, end date, end time, start date and time, end date and time, name, description, location, and time zone. Field references can use mf- for meta fields, acf- for ACF fields, and sc- for shortcodes. wp-title can connect a field to the page title.
Appearance and accessibility
Multiple themes, dark and light modes, simple styling attributes, and more advanced color and styling controls help the button fit different page designs. The interface supports desktop and mobile experiences, dynamic dropdown positioning, mouse, touch, and keyboard input, and more than 20 languages, including right-to-left Arabic text. Labels and text blocks can also be customized. Schema.org structured data is generated for events.
Installation and setup
Add the WordPress plugin, then place the Add to Calendar Button using the shortcode or Gutenberg Block. For Pro use, create or select an event in the web app and connect it with the supplied ProKey or ID. Configure event details, styling, and any dynamic field mappings, then publish the button or generated event page where visitors can use it.
