Display varied content in responsive lightboxes
ARI Fancy Lightbox Pro is a paid edition of ARI Fancy Lightbox, a WordPress popup tool based on Fancybox. It presents selected content in a lightbox that works across mobile and desktop devices. The plugin can display images, videos, PDF documents, maps, inline content, and external pages without requiring additional HTML modifications for supported links and galleries.
The standard lightbox supports images from native WordPress galleries, Jetpack galleries, NextGEN, FooGallery, Justified Image Grid, and WooCommerce product images. It can also open videos from YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Vine, and Metacafe. Local PDF files can be shown through a cross-browser PDFJS viewer, while Google Maps links, web pages, and inline content can open in the same popup interface.
Use Pro features for sharing and direct access
ARI Fancy Lightbox Pro adds deeplinking, generating a unique link for each lightbox item. When that link is opened in a browser, the corresponding lightbox item can open automatically. This provides a direct way to point visitors to a particular image, video, document, or other supported item.
The Pro edition also integrates with the Facebook comment plugin and supports sharing lightbox content through Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and VK. Visitors can also send content by email. These options are useful for galleries, product imagery, media collections, and pages where visitors may want to share a particular item.
Control video and opening behavior
For YouTube, Vimeo, and Dailymotion content, Pro provides extended video-player parameters. These include autoplay, related-video settings, and the fullscreen button, along with other available player options. You can also choose to disable the lightbox on small screens when a popup presentation is not suitable for that display size.
Pro supports splash windows created with a shortcode. A defined lightbox can open when a page loads, and it can be configured to appear only once. External or internal links with a target=”_blank” attribute can also be shown inside the popup. Integration with Justified Image Grid extends the gallery options for sites using that system.
Lightbox workflow and presentation
Visitors can use gestures such as tap, zoom, pan, pinch, and swipe navigation on supported devices. The lightbox can include slideshow mode, loop navigation, fullscreen viewing, and a thumbnails toolbar. Titles can be taken from EXIF data or file names, and the interface includes controls for adjusting lightbox styles. Right-clicking for images can be disabled to avoid copying image URLs.
