BetterLinks Pro extends WordPress link management with tools for marketers, bloggers, affiliate publishers, agencies, content creators, ecommerce teams and site owners. It helps you create branded short links, manage destinations, organize campaigns and understand how visitors interact with each link from one dashboard.
Links can be served from your own site, while click data is stored in your own WordPress database. The Pro edition is designed for teams that need more than basic shortening, redirects, categories, tags and click tracking.

AI-assisted link operations
BetterLinks includes a built-in MCP server that allows supported AI assistants, including Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code, to work with links through plain-language requests. Available tools can create, update and delete links, manage categories and tags, read click analytics, and read or update settings.
Connections can be made through a one-time OAuth approval for Claude and ChatGPT, or by using a copy-and-paste command for Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. MCP is off by default, and access is scope-aware. Read-only requests remain read-only, while each action runs with the permissions of the administrator who approved the connection. Connections can be revoked, tokens can be reset, and the built-in health check can test the connection and identify a failed step.
Practical workflow
Create a short link by entering a destination URL and choosing a custom or generated slug. Organize links with categories and tags, then apply targeting, cloaking, affiliate settings or an expiry date as needed. Use analytics and reports to compare campaigns, and use bulk actions or the AI tools when managing a larger link library.
The plugin also supports custom fields for link metadata, API-key-based quick link creation, duplicate actions and drag-and-drop reordering. CSV import and export and migration tools can assist when moving link data.
Installation and setup
Add BetterLinks Pro to your WordPress site, activate it, and open its settings to configure link management, analytics, integrations and the Pro features required for your workflow. If you plan to use MCP, enable it in BetterLinks and approve only the connections and access scopes you want to use.
