CAPTCHA controls for WordPress forms
CAPTCHA 4WP Premium is the paid edition of CAPTCHA 4WP, an antispam CAPTCHA solution for WordPress. It adds CAPTCHA checks to WordPress forms and login areas, helping site administrators place verification controls where spam and automated submissions are a concern.
The plugin supports WordPress native forms such as login, user registration, and comments forms. The base plugin also supports several reCAPTCHA versions, including V2 “I’m not a robot,” V2 Invisible, and V3 noCAPTCHA. Premium adds a wider choice of CAPTCHA service providers and integrations with selected third-party plugins.
Premium capabilities
- Additional providers: Add hCaptcha and Cloudflare Turnstile, described as free and GDPR compliant in the supplied product information.
- Geoblocking: Block or limit form submissions and comment posting by country.
- Display customization: Adjust the CAPTCHA check text, visual presentation, and position on forms.
- WooCommerce integration: Add CAPTCHA to WooCommerce pages through one-click integration and select the page and placement for the check.
- Third-party integrations: Use one-click support for Contact Form 7, Gravity Forms, WPForms, BuddyPress, and other plugins.
- Whitelisting: Use the premium whitelisting capability where appropriate.
Premium includes the capabilities available in the free version as well. These include setup wizards, support for multiple reCAPTCHA versions, a configurable reCAPTCHA V3 passmark score, and reCAPTCHA failover configuration. The plugin can also detect a visitor’s language and show the CAPTCHA in that language.
Practical setup options
For native WordPress forms, select the forms or areas where CAPTCHA should be displayed. For supported third-party plugins, use the relevant integration controls. Contact Form 7, for example, provides an “Add CAPTCHA” button in its form builder when the premium integration is available.
WooCommerce placement can be selected in the plugin’s CAPTCHA placement settings. The product information states that you can choose the WooCommerce page and specify where the CAPTCHA test appears on the checkout page. This makes it possible to configure verification for selected customer interactions rather than treating every area identically.
Use cases
CAPTCHA 4WP Premium can be used on sites that need verification on login, registration, comments, contact forms, form-builder submissions, or WooCommerce pages. Geoblocking may be useful when form submissions or comments need to be limited by country. Customization options help align the CAPTCHA check with the text, visual style, and position required by a form layout.
Installation and support
Install and activate CAPTCHA 4WP in WordPress, then add or enable the Premium edition according to the supplied product instructions. Open the plugin settings, choose a CAPTCHA provider, configure the relevant keys and options, and select the forms or integrations where the check should appear. Test each configured form before making it available to visitors.
Support for the plugin is available through the WordPress support forums, while premium support for paid customers is provided through one-to-one email.
