Advanced control for widgets and blocks
Widget Options Pro and Widget Options Extended are paid editions for managing the visibility, appearance, and behavior of WordPress sidebar widgets and Gutenberg blocks. They build on Widget Options’ central purpose: helping you decide where and when content appears across pages, posts, categories, custom post types, archive pages, and other site areas.
The editions are useful when a single widget or block should not appear everywhere. You can create more focused layouts for different audiences, devices, content areas, and time periods without relying on separate tools for widget and Gutenberg block control.
Paid visibility controls
Paid capabilities include conditional logic and advanced visibility controls for widgets and blocks. Content can be targeted by user role, login state, device, URL, wildcard restrictions, author content, archive pages, taxonomies, and terms. You can also filter multiple pages using keyword-containing slugs and inherit visibility from a page parent.
Scheduling options support visibility by days and date ranges, with an option to ignore the year. These controls can help manage temporary announcements, recurring content, campaign messages, or sections intended for particular parts of a site.
- Set visibility for pages, posts, and other custom post types.
- Target mobile, desktop, and tablet presentations.
- Use advanced user-role restrictions.
- Apply URL and wildcard rules.
- Use Advanced Custom Fields conditions including equal to, not equal to, contains, does not contain, is empty, and is not empty.
Appearance and widget management
The paid editions add custom WordPress widget styling, custom widget columns, custom links, and sticky or fixed widgets. You can clone widgets when a similar configuration is needed, use widget cache options, and disable widgets where required. Permission options let you control who can edit widget settings based on user role.
Custom widget IDs and classes can support styling or JavaScript work, while alignment options help position widgets and blocks with left, right, center, or justified layouts. Widget titles can also be hidden on the front end while retained in the dashboard for labeling.
Builder and sliding options
Widget Options includes Beaver Builder integration, and Advanced Custom Fields conditions are also available for Elementor and Beaver Builder. The Sliding Widget Options add-on can transform widgets into a modal pop-up, slide-in or toaster, chat box, or another animated sliding panel.
Typical workflow
After activation, the plugin provides a welcome message with detailed video instructions. Go to Settings > Widget Options to enable or disable the features you want. Then open Appearance > Widgets and configure the relevant widgets. Apply visibility, styling, device, role, schedule, or targeting rules according to the layout you need.
Installation
Install and activate the paid edition in WordPress, review the welcome instructions, and open the Widget Options settings area. Enable the controls required for your site, then configure individual widgets and supported blocks from their available settings.
