SMTP email delivery for WordPress
GoSMTP Pro helps WordPress sites send email through SMTP connections or supported email-sending services rather than relying on the hosting provider’s PHP mail function. This gives site owners a configurable way to connect WordPress email with the mail infrastructure they prefer.
Hosting companies may apply mail-sending limits, and hosting server IP reputations can affect where messages are delivered. GoSMTP provides an alternative route through SMTP or provider APIs, helping you manage how WordPress-generated messages are sent.
Connect the mailer you use
GoSMTP supports custom SMTP providers and a range of named services. Available connections include SMTP.com, Sendinblue, Mailgun, SendGrid, SparkPost, SendLayer, Postmark, Maileroo, Elastic Email, SMTP2Go, Gmail, G Suite, Google Workspace, Outlook, Office 365, AWS, Zoho, Resend, and MailerSend. Some provider connections are identified as Pro options.
You can configure SMTP connections and use nicknames, mailer types, and backup connections as part of the available mailer setup. A test email can be sent through the configured mailer to check connection settings and report the execution result.
Monitor and manage outgoing email
GoSMTP Pro includes email logging for WordPress messages sent from your site. Logs can support record keeping, auditing, and troubleshooting when an outgoing message does not behave as expected.
- View logged emails with status, mailer provider, timestamp, and recipient details.
- Open an individual log to review body content, header information, and the delivery response.
- Export filtered email logs as CSV for reporting and analysis.
- Resend a logged email, with the option to send it to a new recipient.
- Resend multiple emails in bulk from the email log wizard.
- Receive notifications about failed delivery through Mail, Slack, or Discord.
Reports, routing, and AI abilities
The Pro email sending report provides aggregated sent and failed counts, an overall success rate, and a daily performance breakdown. Smart Routing dynamically selects SMTP providers based on content, isolating transactional alerts from marketing messages so critical emails can use an appropriate route.
GoSMTP also exposes abilities through the WordPress Abilities API for AI clients, assistants, and MCP adapters. Pro abilities include listing email logs, viewing log details, exporting CSV logs, resending a logged message, and retrieving an aggregated sending report. Sensitive credentials are not exposed through the settings ability.
Practical WordPress uses
Use GoSMTP Pro for sites that send contact notifications, account messages, order-related email, form submissions, or other WordPress-generated communications. Logging helps teams review delivery activity, while resend tools can assist with follow-up messages. Multiple mailer connections and backup connections provide flexibility when organizing sending infrastructure.
Installation
In WordPress, go to Plugins, select Add New, search for GoSMTP, and click Install. After installation, configure a supported SMTP provider or custom SMTP connection, then send a test email to verify the settings before using the mailer for site messages.
