Interactive maps for WordPress
HTML5 Maps Premium helps you add colorful, responsive maps to WordPress pages and posts. Use a predefined map for a country or region, including options such as the World, United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Italy. New maps and regions are added continuously according to the product description.
Maps can support geographically related content, visual navigation, regional directories, location-based information, and other projects where visitors need to explore areas directly on the page.
Premium capabilities
- Interactive regional maps: Display clickable continents, regions, states, counties, or other available areas.
- Responsive presentation: Maps are designed to work across desktop and mobile contexts, including iPad, iPhone, and Android devices.
- Custom-color regions: Adjust map colors to suit your content and visual presentation.
- Popup windows: Show information when a visitor moves the mouse cursor over a region.
- Landing page links: Configure regions to direct visitors to selected destinations.
- Side information: Display additional content below or beside the map instead of using popup windows.
- Branding-free presentation: The Premium plugins are described as branding free.
- Local map libraries: The required map libraries are included so they can be placed on your local server rather than relying only on the CDN-hosted libraries used by the plugin.
Visual configuration without coding
The built-in visual editor lets you configure map design, colors, popups, and side information without coding. This provides a practical workflow for preparing a map before placing it on a public page.
For region interactions, you can choose whether a click opens a URL or shows more information. The URL field can also contain valid JavaScript code when the region’s click option is set to Open a URL. If you prefer an information panel, select Show more info and enter the content or upload media that WordPress can handle.
Adding a map to a page
After configuring a map, open the plugin’s Maps tab to view the available shortcodes. Copy the shortcode for the selected map and paste it into the text of the WordPress page or post where the map should appear. The map will then be embedded in that location.
Language options
English is included by default. The listed translation options also include German, Spanish, French, Polish, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian.
Installation workflow
- Install and activate the Premium plugin in WordPress.
- Open the map settings and choose an available country or regional map.
- Use the visual editor to adjust colors, regions, popups, links, and side information.
- Copy the relevant shortcode from the Maps tab.
- Paste the shortcode into the desired page or post and publish or update it.
