WordPress email delivery through Amazon SES
WP Offload SES is a paid WordPress email delivery plugin for sites that need more control over messages sent through Amazon SES. It provides a guided way to configure WordPress to send site email through Amazon SES, while giving administrators tools to review sending activity, monitor engagement, and respond to delivery failures.
The plugin is designed for websites that send notifications, form messages, newsletter-related email, and other WordPress-generated communication. It works with the WordPress email system and can integrate with form and newsletter plugins, including Ninja Forms, Contact Form 7, Gravity Forms, and Email Subscribers & Newsletters.
Configuration and sending controls
A step-by-step setup wizard helps configure the site to send email through Amazon SES. Administrators can define the default email address and name used for WordPress notifications, then verify sending domains and email addresses. Before enabling site-wide sending, the plugin can send a test email so the configuration can be checked.
WP Offload SES also supports custom Reply To and Return Path addresses. These settings can help align outgoing messages with the way a site handles replies and email return information.
Reporting and operational visibility
The paid edition adds open and click reporting in the WordPress dashboard. This makes it possible to review whether recipients open particular site emails and whether they click links. That information can be used to compare changes such as different subject lines or revised email copy.
Administrators can also view a list of emails sent from the site and see statistics related to the Amazon SES send rate. A weekly health report delivered to the inbox provides another way to review whether site email is sending.
Handling sending failures
Amazon SES accounts have a maximum send rate. If a site attempts to send more messages per second than the account allows, Amazon SES can return an error. WP Offload SES is aware of the account send rate and works to stay within that limit.
When a send fails, such as because of a networking issue, the paid edition provides a queue system that retries sending and keeps track of failures. It also includes tools for manually retrying email sending failures, giving administrators a way to revisit messages that were not sent successfully.
Multisite and practical workflows
For WordPress multisite installations, subsites can use different email settings, or the network can enforce the same settings across the installation. This supports both centrally managed networks and networks where individual subsites require separate email configuration.
A typical workflow is to connect the site to Amazon SES, configure the default sender details, verify the relevant domain or address, and send a test message. After reviewing the setup, the administrator can enable site-wide sending, monitor the sent-email list and send-rate statistics, and use reporting or retry tools as needed.
Installation
Install and activate WP Offload SES from the WordPress administration area. Open the plugin settings, follow the setup wizard, connect the site to Amazon SES, and configure the sender details. Verify the sending domain or address, send a test email, and enable site-wide sending when the test is satisfactory. If the site uses multisite, configure settings for the network or individual subsites before putting the email workflow into regular use.
