Expand the content in your WordPress feeds
RSS Includes Pages Pro modifies existing WordPress RSS feeds so they can include more than standard posts. It is designed for websites where pages are an important part of the published content, particularly WordPress sites being used as content management systems. Instead of creating separate feeds, the plugin adjusts the feeds already provided by WordPress.
When the plugin is deactivated, RSS feeds return to their default state. This makes it possible to change the feed behavior without replacing the existing feed structure.
Choose which content appears
The Pro edition provides more control over the content included in feeds. You can configure feeds to include only pages, excluding posts when pages are the primary content you want to distribute. Alternatively, you can include or exclude specific posts and pages by their IDs.
This ID-based control is useful when a site contains content that should not appear in syndicated feeds, or when only selected items should be added. It also gives you a way to manage feed content without changing the broader publishing structure of the website.
Support for custom post types
RSS Includes Pages Pro can also add custom post types to existing feeds. Examples provided include WooCommerce products and Avada portfolios. This allows feeds to represent more of the content stored in WordPress, rather than being limited to posts and pages.
Work with existing feed tools
The plugin makes its feed modifications at a low level, and other RSS feed-related plugins should remain compatible. It does not create new feeds. Instead, it adds pages and custom post types to the existing feeds already used by the site.
Feed updates may not appear immediately after activation or after publishing new content. Feedburner may need a few hours to pick up the updated feed, while WordPress may cache feeds rather than rebuild them immediately. These delays should be considered when checking a newly changed feed.
Practical use cases
- Include pages in feeds when pages represent a substantial portion of a CMS-based website.
- Create a pages-only feed configuration when posts should not be distributed.
- Include or exclude individual posts and pages by ID.
- Add custom content such as WooCommerce products or Avada portfolios to existing feeds.
Installation and setup
Install and activate RSS Includes Pages Pro on the WordPress website where you want to modify existing RSS feeds. Configure the desired content rules, including page-only output, selected post or page IDs, and supported custom post types. After saving the settings, allow time for WordPress caching or Feedburner processing to reflect changes in the feed.
