Advanced uploads for WordPress
Iptanus File Upload Professional extends front-end file submission for WordPress pages, posts, and sidebars. It is designed for sites that need more than a basic upload field, such as large-file collection, media submissions, image galleries, or forms with additional information.
The upload form can be placed in a page or post with the [wordpress_file_upload] shortcode, or added to a sidebar as a widget. The Professional edition supports multiple file uploads, very large file uploads, and drag-and-drop submission. It also adds CAPTCHA, detailed upload progress bars, a list of uploaded files, an image gallery, and custom CSS options.
Supported paid capabilities
- Multiple file upload: Let users submit more than one file through the upload form.
- Very large file upload: Handle larger uploads than the basic configuration is intended for.
- Resumable uploads: If a connection is lost, the Pro version can resume and continue the upload until the file is fully uploaded.
- Drag and drop: Provide a direct way for users to add files to the form.
- CAPTCHA: Add an additional verification option to the upload process.
- Detailed progress bars: Give users more information while files are being transferred.
- Uploaded file lists and galleries: Present uploaded files or images in dedicated views.
- Custom CSS: Add CSS rules through the shortcode to adjust the form’s appearance.
Forms, destinations, and file management
Beyond file selection, the plugin supports custom fields such as checkboxes, text fields, email fields, and dropdown lists. This allows an upload form to collect related details or to operate as a contact form when selecting a file is optional.
Uploaded files can be sent to a selected destination folder from a list of subfolders, added to the WordPress Media area, or attached to the current page. The plugin can also save uploads to an FTP location using FTP or SFTP. Notifications and emails can be produced after submissions, and users can be redirected to another URL after a successful upload.
Administrators can view uploaded files through the Dashboard’s Uploaded Files menu and use the included file browser to manage them. Upload events and file management actions can also be logged for administrator review. Multiple shortcode instances may be used on the same page or post.
Practical use cases
Use the Professional edition for project file collection, customer submissions, support forms, image contributions, screenshots, or webcam video uploads where the browser supports the required functionality. HTML5, AJAX, and CSS3 support help provide the intended experience, while older browsers and mobile browsers may not support every feature.
