Advanced Google Maps for WordPress
WP Google Map Pro is a paid edition for adding customizable, responsive Google Maps to WordPress websites. It combines a dedicated map editor with shortcode placement, allowing maps to be created in the WordPress dashboard and displayed in pages, posts, and sidebars.
The plugin can support simple location displays as well as more detailed mapping projects. Use it to present business locations, retail branches, properties, directories, destinations, event venues, or service areas with markers, categories, listings, and directions.
Maps, markers, and display controls
The Pro edition supports unlimited maps and unlimited markers. Maps can be configured with custom dimensions, zoom levels from 1 to 22, language and regional settings, and advanced controls for zooming, panning, and map types. Standard Roadmap, Terrain, Satellite, and Hybrid views are supported, along with Google Map Street View integration.

Store locators and marker listings
For websites with multiple locations, the advanced Store Locator provides search options and real-time category filtering. Advanced category filtering supports multiple selection logic, helping visitors narrow results across larger location sets.
Marker listings can be displayed below or alongside a map using several presentation styles. Available themes include Basic List, Basic Table, Advanced Table, and Carousel. These options are useful for store directories, property collections, business listings, and other projects where visitors need to review map points as well as view them geographically.
Directions, styling, and data management
WP Google Map Pro includes directions support in two interface styles: the Legacy Design classic layout and the Modern Drawer side-panel interface. Custom styled map themes can be added using JSON-based settings, while custom CSS and JavaScript support further styling and behavior adjustments.
Import and export tools support JSON and CSV workflows for migration and backups. Multiple maps can also be placed on the same page when a project needs separate map views or location groups.
Installation and shortcode workflow
After adding the plugin in WordPress, open WP Google Map and choose Add New. Set the map title, location, and markers, then save the map. The map list provides an identifier for embedding.
To display a map, copy its shortcode and paste it into a page, post, or sidebar. A typical format is [gmap-embed id="123"]. An API key can be obtained through the Google Cloud Console, following the available setup guide or video tutorial. Documentation includes a quick installation guide, full setup materials, and help for identifying map loading problems.
