Auto Featured Image Pro helps keep WordPress content visually consistent by creating and assigning featured images without repetitive manual uploads. It is designed for blogs, affiliate sites, content publishers, and websites with large archives where missing thumbnails need to be corrected efficiently.
The plugin supports several generation methods. It can use the first image found inside a post, create a text-based image from the post title, find an existing image and generate one when none is available, or apply a predefined default image as a fallback. These options let you choose a practical approach for different types of content.
Target the content you want to update
Pro provides smart filters and targeting controls for more precise bulk generation. Filter posts by post type, post status, category, or date range, then generate featured images only for the content that matches your selected rules. Advanced post type targeting is useful when a site contains several kinds of published content.
Generation can also be scheduled automatically. This supports recurring workflows for sites that publish regularly or need to process a large collection of posts over time. The generation screen processes posts in bulk, displays real-time progress, and records the last 100 generated images with details such as preview, size, generation method, and status.
Design title-based images
When you generate images from post titles, Pro adds controls for creating a more consistent visual style. Use gradient backgrounds or upload custom background images. Typography and layout settings include Google Fonts, custom font files, horizontal and vertical text alignment, custom text before or after the title, and custom padding.
The live preview helps you review background, font, alignment, colors, and layout settings before saving and generating images. This makes it easier to establish a repeatable presentation for a blog, news site, affiliate website, or other title-driven content collection.
Use external image sources
Pro lets you search for and select images from Unsplash and Pixabay directly from the WordPress dashboard. Selected external images can be uploaded automatically to the Media Library, supporting a workflow in which image selection and featured-image assignment take place from one administration area.
Manage images in bulk
In addition to the generation screen, the Posts list supports bulk actions for generating, setting, or removing featured images. This allows you to manage multiple posts without opening each one individually. The combination of filters, generation methods, previews, logs, and bulk actions is suited to both older content cleanups and ongoing publishing workflows.
Installation and setup
Install Auto Featured Image Pro in your WordPress site and open its dashboard. Select a generation method, choose the post filters and design settings you need, preview the result where applicable, and start generation. For recurring work, configure the available scheduling and targeting options before running the process.
