WordPress security with additional oversight
AIOS Premium extends All-In-One Security (AIOS) – Security and Firewall with additional tools for monitoring and protecting a WordPress website. It is designed for site owners who want more than the free plugin’s web application firewall, login security tools, and recommended security practices.
The premium edition combines security controls with visibility into important site activity and availability. Its features are suitable for business websites, personal sites, and other WordPress installations where administrators need a clearer way to review security events and respond to potential issues.
Premium security capabilities
Malware scanning and site monitoring
AIOS Premium scans your WordPress website for malware. It also monitors response time and uptime, helping you keep track of how the site is responding and whether it remains available. The plugin can notify you of issues within 24 hours, giving you information to review when a problem is detected.
Additional access controls
Country Blocking provides another way to control access based on location. Smart 404 Error Blocking adds protection around repeated or suspicious requests that result in 404 errors. These tools complement the wider firewall and login security features available through AIOS.
Advanced Two Factor Authentication adds further control to the authentication process. AIOS also supports two-factor authentication for specific user roles, with support for Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, and other authenticators.
Security workflow
AIOS is organized to guide users through its security features. Options are marked as basic, intermediate, or advanced, so administrators can work through the available controls in a logical order. Login protections include limiting failed attempts, choosing lockout durations, forcing users to log out after a specified period, preventing user enumeration, and manually approving new registrations.
The plugin also includes tools for identifying default “admin” usernames and identical login and display names. File and database security features can notify you about file changes, restrict access to key files, and scan files and folders for insecure permissions. Firewall rules, spam prevention, and an audit log provide additional areas for review.
Practical uses
- Scan a WordPress site for malware and review availability through uptime and response-time monitoring.
- Use country-based access controls and Smart 404 Error Blocking as additional security measures.
- Require stronger authentication for selected user roles with advanced two-factor authentication.
- Review events such as plugin or theme additions, removals, and updates through the audit log.
- Reduce brute-force and registration risks with login limits, lockouts, and registration approval.
Installation
After purchasing AIOS Premium, download the plugin from the emailed link or the My Account page. In WordPress administration, go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin, upload the ZIP file, and install it. AIOS Premium extends the free version, so keep the free plugin installed and active.
