Organize WordPress content in category folders
Real Category Management PRO provides a folder-style interface for managing WordPress content. It visualizes existing hierarchical taxonomies as folders, helping you work with posts, pages, WooCommerce products, and other custom post types in a more structured way. The interface is designed for websites where long content lists make routine organization difficult.
Instead of opening and editing each item individually, you can use the folder tree and content overview to move items or assign them to categories with drag and drop. This is useful for stores, learning platforms, forums, and other websites that contain large collections of entries.
Manage more than posts
The PRO edition extends category-folder management to custom post types. Supported examples include WooCommerce products, LearnPress content, and bbPress forums. It can also work with content created by other WordPress plugins when those plugins use WordPress custom post types and taxonomies.
WooCommerce support includes products and product attributes, making the folder view useful for managing larger product inventories. The folder structure is based on standardized WordPress taxonomies, so existing taxonomy information remains available in WordPress if the plugin is uninstalled.
Practical folder management
- Create and organize folders: Create, rename, and delete categories from one toolbar.
- Arrange the folder tree: Sort folders by drag and drop and create a custom order.
- Move content quickly: Drag items into categories or assign them to multiple categories without editing every item.
- Find folders faster: Use folder quick search when working with a larger taxonomy structure.
- Browse without full reloads: Change the contents of the content table when changing pages, without reloading the whole backend page.
- Work across devices: The interface works on touch devices.
Useful for growing websites
As a site grows, it may contain hundreds or thousands of products, lessons, articles, or forum threads. Real Category Management PRO gives these content types a familiar folder-based overview, similar in concept to file management interfaces. This can make it easier to locate entries, review category structures, and keep related content together.
The plugin is described as WordPress 5.x and Gutenberg ready, supports WordPress Multisite, and is available in English, German, Dutch, Spanish, and French. It is also designed to work with plugins that use WordPress custom post types, including WooCommerce, LearnPress, bbPress, WP Job Manager, Strong Testimonials, Ultimate Member, The Events Calendar, FooGallery, Elementor Website Builder, Advanced Custom Fields, and others listed by the publisher.
Installation and first use
Install Real Category Management PRO on the WordPress website where you want to manage content in folders. After installation, open the relevant content overview and use the folder tree to work with existing hierarchical taxonomies. Create or rearrange folders from the toolbar, then organize content with drag and drop.
For content types that do not have a taxonomy, create a taxonomy first through the appropriate WordPress theme or plugin setup. Real Category Management uses existing WordPress taxonomies to build the folder view rather than creating a separate replacement structure.
