Price comparison sets for WordPress
Datafeedr Comparison Sets automatically creates price comparison sets for products in a WooCommerce store or wherever WordPress shortcodes are supported. It is designed for sites that use the Datafeedr API plugin and an active API subscription, with the API Starter Plan and Basic Plan presented as the available paid editions.
The plugin is intended for personal use. Before configuring it, the Datafeedr API plugin must be installed and activated, with affiliate networks and merchants selected through that plugin. Each comparison set that is generated or updated requires between 2 and 6 API requests, so API usage should be considered when planning how the feature will be used.
Paid plan editions
- API Starter Plan: provides access to the plugin through an active Datafeedr API subscription.
- Basic Plan: provides the same comparison-set workflow described for the plugin and is suggested when API usage needs to be considered beyond the Starter Plan.
The source information does not assign separate comparison-set features to these editions. Both are described as API plans required for using the plugin.
WooCommerce integration
Enable the WooCommerce option under WordPress Admin Area > Datafeedr API > Comparison Sets > Integrations. Once enabled, a price comparison set is generated when a product in the store is viewed for the first time. Enabling the integration does not generate sets for every product immediately.
Shortcode display
Comparison sets can also be placed in posts, pages, or other areas where WordPress shortcodes are allowed. A set can be created by product name, or by using both a product name and brand, such as [dfrcs name=”baratza encore”] or [dfrcs name=”j8006″ brand=”omega”]. The plugin also supports a custom title through its shortcode format.
Amazon product settings
To allow Amazon products to appear in comparison sets, enter the Amazon Access Key ID, Secret Access Key, Tracking ID, and Locale under Datafeedr API > Configuration > Amazon Settings. Then open the Comparison Sets settings, change the Cache Lifetime field to 86400, and save the changes.
