RSS image control for content marketing
Featured Images in RSS Premium extends the Featured Images in RSS for Mailchimp & More plugin with advanced controls for publishing images and content through WordPress RSS feeds. It is designed for content marketers who use RSS data with email campaigns, marketing automation, feed readers, and product-based campaigns.
The Premium edition helps you refine how feed content is presented when featured images, media tags, responsive image code, categories, and publishing timing need more control. It also works with WooCommerce product images for product RSS feeds and product-based RSS campaigns.
Premium capabilities
- Media and enclosure tags: Add media and enclosure tags for services that require them and for custom email template designs.
- Media-tag image output: Use media tag images only to help address duplicate image issues in advanced template designs.
- Custom image sizes: Completely customize the image display size used in RSS feeds.
- Body image fallback: Use the first photo from a post when no featured photo has been set.
- Responsive image control: Disable responsive images when a service has issues with responsive image code, such as Mailchimp’s Preview.
- Category exclusions: Exclude categories that should not appear in the RSS feed, including Homepage or Featured categories.
- Custom feed content: Add text or HTML before or after posts, such as backlinks or advertisements.
- Publish delay: Add a time buffer before new posts enter the RSS feed to help safeguard against typos or accidental publication.
Practical RSS workflows
Use the plugin when your featured images need to appear in RSS email campaigns or other services that use RSS feed data. The base plugin supports image placement options including left above text, left text wrap, right text wrap, and centered above text, along with padding and selectable image sizes. Premium adds further control for teams that need to adjust feed output for particular templates or services.
For WooCommerce workflows, product photos can be added to product RSS feeds. For publishing workflows, category exclusions and a delay can help keep selected content out of a feed or give posts a short review period before distribution. Custom text or HTML can also be placed before or after feed content for backlinks or advertisements.
Support and updates
The Premium edition includes expert support in the United States through the Premium Knowledge Center and contact options in the plugin settings page. Premium plugin updates include new features, fixes, and security patches. A 14-day free trial is also described, with no credit card required.
Installation and setup
Install and activate the plugin in WordPress, then open Featured Images in the WordPress Dashboard’s left sidebar. Use the settings area to configure image output, positioning, padding, feed content, categories, media tags, and publishing delay according to your RSS workflow.
